In January of this past year, a group of parents and educators working together with a Solid Foundation- trained coach from NH PIRC combined forces with the Ledge Street School Literacy Team to create a March Literacy Month Celebration. They sent out invitations to civil servants to come to this event, read to children, and demonstrate how adults in a variety of community roles consider reading to be an integral part of community life. Conway Elementary School in Conway NH was selected in 2006 to take part in a pilot program through the NH State PIRC program at the Parent Informa- tion Center in Concord. The school has been taking a hard look at itself and worked to actively involve parents and faculty over the years. In 2007, the school participated in its first 65- question survey with staff and parents. Two and a half years later, the same survey was conducted and the results show glowing improvement.  Conway El Partnership Pays Off Ledge St School Partners for Reading One NH School District’s Story More Partnership Articles and Resources Parent-Teacher Communication is Key!  |  Special Education Partnership Tips 6 Types of Parent Involvement in Schools PIRC’s Solid Foundation Partnership Program NH Connections Special Education Partnerships Website
