Parents from valley View Community School Help Incoming Parents Prepare their Children for Kindergarten

Parents at Valley View Community School

Schools are always needing good resources and this is a great example of a school developing a great resource and being willing to share it!

One of the goals for the parent-school partnership team at Valley View Community School in Farmington was building Parent-to Parent and Parent-to-Teacher relationships.

The team decided to focus on Kindergarten parent relationships and so the team brainstormed on what would be most helpful to support communication as well as support parents.

The team worked together and created a fun and practical book for the child and parent to complete together entitled, “I Am Ready for School When…” that was distributed to all families whose children will be enrolling in Kindergarten this fall.

The book highlights areas that contribute to a child getting ready for Kindergarten encouraging practice and experiences.   The popular book has been made accessible through the PIRC and copies can be ordered and/or downloaded on line.  Thanks, Valley View for sharing this great resource!
